What happened

A man identified as Aro, popularly called "Eroku", was abducted by suspected terrorists in Mopa-Amuro Local Government Area of Kogi State on 25 July 2026. His captors have demanded a ₦4 million ransom, and the family says it cannot yet raise the money.

How the numbers were verified

Circumstances and exact community of the abduction are not stated; only the LGA is given. Victim identified only by a partial name/nickname. Figures rest on unnamed family members and a local outlet (Egbe Mekun Parrot); no police or official confirmation. The article's latter half is follow-up on a separate, previously reported Yagba West abduction/rescue (four abducted, one vigilante and three bandits killed) — that is a distinct event and not the extracted incident.

Location

Mopa-Amuro, Kogi — exact coordinates not recorded; marker placed at the centre of the state.
