Verified conservative figures — "at least" numbers. Where reports claim more, the higher claim is shown but not counted until verified.
Resolved — 2 released or rescued.
Two young herders, Abubakar Umaru and Abdullahi Umaru, were abducted by suspected kidnappers while tending cattle in the Owo area of Ondo State and taken into forest along the Ondo–Edo boundary. Amotekun Corps operatives said they traced the abductors' hideout and rescued both victims, along with the cattle; the kidnappers fled.
Abduction itself was completed (2 victims taken) before the rescue, so not merely an attempted attack. Exact date of the abduction is not stated — only that Amotekun announced the rescue on Tuesday, 4 August 2026; date set to that week. Sole source is Amotekun state commander Adetunji Adeleye at a briefing; no independent confirmation or police statement. No casualties reported.
Owo (forest along Ondo–Edo boundary, 'Abuja Forest'), Owo, Ondo — exact coordinates not recorded; marker placed at the centre of the state.
